Welcome to the Jukes family scrapbook
This site gathers the records, photographs and stories found so far about the families behind Matthew and Scott Jukes: the Jukes, Harkers, Howarths, Phippses, McDonalds, Powers and others. Their paths run from Birmingham, Swaledale, Cornwall, Barbados and the Scottish Highlands to Tasmania and Victoria.
It is a working scrapbook, not a finished family history. There will be mistakes in it. Each chapter says what still needs checking — and now the whole family can add to it directly: sign in, and your edits are shared with everyone straight away.

What's on the site
Finding your way around
- Use the tabs along the top to move between the five sections.
- Click any photo or tree chart to see it larger. Click again, or press Esc, to close it.
- In the Scrapbook, the contents list on the left jumps to any chapter.
- The Library page holds the list of discrepancies: records that disagree, and things still to prove.
The family tree
The tree was built on Ancestry. The charts on this site are a fixed snapshot of it, so they don't change here. You will also be given a copy of the tree as a .ged file (GEDCOM, the standard format for family trees) to upload to Ancestry and build on yourself.
Adding to the scrapbook
Sign in with the family account, open the Scrapbook, and click Edit on any chapter. Type straight onto the page, correct mistakes, add new findings. When you save, every family member sees the change immediately — no more emailing files or merging copies.
One shared copy
The scrapbook, the discrepancy list and the photo gallery now live in one place online. Anything anyone adds is part of the single shared record, and the counts and dates on this page update to match.
